Hidè Takemoto
YAMAHA Music London Ambassador 2024 and support guitarist for Jinsei TSUJI, Hidè’s ‘magic fingers’ blends jazz, pop, rock, Indian, Spanish, Celtic, Japanese, blues and heavy metal on his guitar.
Classically trained in Japan and at prestigious Guildhall School of Music in London, Hidè epitomises the tradition, compounding classical literacy and the finger-style artistry.
Hidè’s music were featured on Japanese TV program as well as numerous radio in the UK including Monocle Radio with his work with Rié fu.
As a composer, Hidè wrote many music including American calligrapher Thomas Ingmire’s project as well as ‘My Gentle Roses’ for Duo Ueda, which was published on Gendai Guitar magazine in 2020.

Hidè’s guitar technique can be traced back via Keigo Fujii, José Luis Gonzaléz, Andrés Segovia, Miguel Llobet to the great Francisco Tárrega.
“I used to be a good classical guitar player,” he explains. “But now I’m blending any styles like blues, jazz, rock, heavy metal with all kinds of music into the classical guitar.”

Rapper, Issunboushi
The one of only two Japanese rappers in the U.K. His protege YUYA made his debut in London in recent years.
Issunboushi’s single ‘Mottainai’ was ranked second in the requested song list on Yuusen radio. He was based in Paris from 2012, and moved to London in 2017.
Issunboushi has made numerous appearances on Japanese TV and radio. He has written two books about rap, and has released five albums.

武本英之
ギタリスト・作曲家。
15歳からエレキギターを始め、19歳の頃からクラッシックギターを藤井敬吾氏に師事。1999年から名門、ギルドホール音楽院で学び、奨学金を得てバチュラー(楽士)、演奏家ディプロマ、作曲家ディプロマを取得。和声、対位法、管弦楽法を学び、ギターをロバート・ブライトモア (Robert Brightmore) に、作曲をダニエル・シュクロイエンス(Daniel Shcroyens) 、ジュディス・ビンガム (Judith Bingham) に師事。
音楽的バックグラウンドはクラシック音楽の枠を超え、インド、スペイン、ケルト、日本の伝統音楽、ポップ、ロック、ヘヴィ・メタルと幅広く、クラシックギターの新しい可能性を追求し続けている。
2017年に読売テレビ「グッと!地球便」に紹介される他、Hyper Japanやジャパン祭りへの出演、Monocle Radio、Farside Radioなど多数のメディアに取り上げられる。
作品に津軽三味線奏者一川響氏とのコラボ作品『FOUR SPRINGS』、自身の作曲作品集『SKY FLOWERS』、シンガー・ソングライターのTim Hopkins氏とのコラボ作品『RED SHOES GREEN TEA』、EP『FEATHERINGS』、またロックシンガーMojo Ozawa氏とのバンド作品『BEAU SKY』(hide n mojoz)では作詞も手がける。
2024年 ロンドンYAMAHA アンバサダー就任。また、シンガー・作家・映画監督・芸術家でもある辻仁成バンドのギタリストとしてロンドン、フランスツアーに参加する他、ソロ・ギタリストとしてイギリス、スペイン、フランス、チェコなどのフェスティバルで演奏する。

THE HEAT – 80’s Japanese rock meets the rolling stones! Hailing from Kikuchi City, Japan, these thunderous Rock’n Roll giants are coming to take London by storm after their 2020 40th Anniversary album “Way to London”. Despite facing tragedy with the loss of their bassist, the band focused on using music for healing, performing at various relief concerts. They’ve also made their mark internationally, recording at Toshiba EMI Studio in 2006 and performing in China and Korea. Their relentless passion for rock music has allowed them to carve their name into the global stage. The heat will perform acoustic version at So restaurant.

An evening with Japanese singer Nozomi Fukushima and pianist Saaya Matsumoto

To all who love music, song, and food!
So Restaurant welcome the brilliant Japanese singer Nozomi Fukushima accompanied by the talented pianist Saaya Matsumoto
Nozomi has a diverse repertoire, having trained as a classical singer at Tokyo University of the Arts, and due to commence her MA Musical Theatre course in London from September.
Saaya began her piano studies at the age of three. Developing an interest in jazz by the age of 18, she had been an active performer in the music scene of Fukuoka and other parts of Kyushu, playing with a variety of bands and musicians.
Nozomi and Saaya will be performing Japanese folk songs and popular oldies, opera classics, and musical and broadway favourites. We are super excited!
The line-up will include Opera (La Bohème, Gianni Schicchi), Ghibli songs (Spirited Away, My Neighbour Totoro), Japanese classic autumn songs, and more…!
Come to spend a perfect late summer evening with us accompanied by beautiful song and Japanese food!
About Nozomi Fukushima
Nozomi was born in Fukuoka prefecture. After having graduated from Shuyukan High School, she entered Tokyo University of the Arts and trained in the Department of Vocal Music as Soprano. In summer 2019, she flew to New York on her own. During her two-week stay, she watched 15 musical shows and became even more fascinated by the musical world. She has been studying Musical Theatre since June 2022 in London with Mary Hammond, Karen Rabinowitz, and Lily Kerhoas.
She has appeared in numerous musicals and plays such as”Guys and Dolls”, “Footloose” “The light in the Piazza” and “Spring Awakening”.

About Saaya Matsumoto
Saaya was born in Miyakonojo, Japan in 1991, and began her piano studies at the age of three. With her parents’ love for music, she developed an interest in jazz by the age of 18 and moved to Fukuoka to pursue her studies.
As the pianist of the big band “Advanced Music Gallery”, she joined the vocalist and flugelhorn player TOKU in his recording of “Dear Mr. SINATORA” and his tour in 2015 and 2016.
Her debut album “Precious” was released in October 2022, showcasing her talents as both a composer and performer.
Saaya relocated to London, United Kingdom in March 2023 to expand her musical horizons and share her passion for jazz with new audiences.
